A Place Without A Name: Alright, saying it one last time.
Even if I’m stubborn and don’t feel like I should need to apologize for something that could have been handled so much more… nicely. I apologize for in any way shape or form coming off as ‘defending whitewashing’ to some people. Since I was mostly trying to have a discussion about how lighting…
I still love you Fenfen, atleast you’re being mature. The argument in itself is ridiculous. People need to let it go.
I love you too, dear. ♥ And I am trying, even if I’m a bit of a stubborn git at times. xD The argument over my original post, most certainly. Over whitewashing as a whole, not so much. But I think, hopefully, now, people will forget my original post in a few days.
Its not your fault, I honestly didn’t pick up any hint of support of whitewashing in your whole OP, I’m sure everyone was riled up before hand and misinterpreted what you said as support. It happens, just don’t let it get to you. I got your back.
I think part of it was talking on how the light changes skin tone. Which I understand better now, as it’s really changing the hue (mildly), and the lightest parts on anyone are going to be the highlights. That doesn’t mean a really really dark character can appear white as… well, snow. Though Fenris’ and Sebastian’s skin confuse me still. I know Sebastian is mostly tanned (but why he looks so pale in some screens I don’t know). And Fenris’ skin… sometimes looks peachy. O_o Which… also confuses me. But, meh. Unless someone would like to explain that to me, I’ll just continue on with my life.
And I think that, since there has been quite a bit more of whitewashing (intentional or not) going around, my ‘don’t pass judgement so quickly’ didn’t come off as well. And I will try not to. xD Thank you, Vampy. ♥
You’re welcome dear. Yeaaaah I don’t know about the whole whitewashing thing. Honestly I don’t care lol Art is art and should be appreciated as such. And that artwork (no matter what people say) is amazing beyond belief. If they dont like it, they can go make their own. :D It wasn’t even the skin that bothered me, it was Isabela’s arm! Did you see it? Its like it dislocated lol but still amazing art nonetheless. I just wish everyone would get along already.

You made it clear that you were not defending whitewashing. You’re responsible for what you’re saying, but NOT for what they understand. It’s their fault for misunderstanding, not yours.

Don’t apologize for their misunderstanding. It’s because they lack the mental capacity to understand what you type that’s the problem. You stay as you are. Let them be vicious and tell them they need to reread it a few dozen times.
